You all know I love Collectif. And so it’s no surprise that I fell in love with Penny.

Penny Pencil Dress Black

The only thing that put me off was that neckline. How would I ever find a bra that would work with such a dress? Enter the Curvy Kate Luxe.

It’s being released next month, and I am lucky enough to have a 36H sample of the bra. It’s absolutely amazing. The neckline of the penny is perfect with the Luxe, and I feel so comfortable in it.

The size 16 Collectif Penny Pencil dress fitted me perfectly – and so I would say sizing down in this dress is a must. It’s made from bengaline which is always a joy on a body that spans about six sizes in every size chart, as it hugs my ins and outs beautifully. The length was perfect on my 5’7 frame, and the slit was a welcome and not too generous addition.

The cross over halter style of the dress adds a little something. It’s a little saucy and different and I adore it! It does choke me ever so slightly during wear, but all it needs is a little adjustment and it’s wonderful once more!

Getting my arms and back out is a little out of my comfort zone, but this dress is so bold and beautiful, and I think my arms and back won’t be the first thing anyone else notices!

I will do a full post on the strapless bra once it’s available to buy, so stay tuned for that! I was actually sans shapewear in this post, but typically my choice would have been my old faithful Maidenform shorts.

What do you think of Penny?
