Introducing: Tutti Rouge

12 Apr

Recently, there has been a stirring amongst my fellow lingerie bloggers. Images from trade shows and press releases have been shared of a brand that is due to start hitting stores next month. I have seen images of laughing smiling models, wearing brightly coloured gorgeous sexy lingerie that appears to be available in larger cup sizes. Models that are slim and slender with curves, with smaller and larger back, augmented and natural breasts. Who is this magical brand? The answer…

“We would like to introduce you to a cute, curvaceous, fun, flirty and frilly lady ‐ Tutti Rouge.

Tutti Rouge will get the party started with one of the most exciting brand launches of the year, offering a stunning, fuller bust collection of coordinating lingerie available in DD – HH cups with 28” ‐ 38” backs. The range has been lovingly created by lingerie designer Jessica Prebble. Previously Jessica has consistently delivered best styles for selected European brands and High Street retailers.

Tutti Rouge has already successfully trialled in several independent and online stores in the UK for AW12. The SS13 collection will debut with lingerie leader Bravissimo.

The emphasis for the brand is on fashion, fit and affordability. As Jessica says ‘Tutti Rouge will break a few hearts, but she won’t break the bank’.

Tutti Rouge calls to curvaceous, vivacious, fashion-forward girls with attractive price points of £26 - £32 for bras and £9.50 – £17.50 for co-ordinates. Complemented by a vibrant marketing campaign, the word on every girls lips will soon be Tutti Rouge.”

I couldn’t wait to get my hands on some Tutti Rouge lingerie!
Luckily, my wish was granted by the arrival of a gorgeous looking box some weeks later. The ‘Tutti Rouge’ label on the packaging made me instantly rip the parcel open, and inside was the most gorgeously presented box of lingerie and goodies.

I had been sent the ‘Liliana’ set in a size 36H/XL and she was gorgeous! And who can resist a stick of rock and some lip balm!?

I hurriedly tried Liliana straight on, marvelling at the fact that it was a gorgeous pretty pink PADDED bra in my size – yippee!

tr

The set fit me almost perfectly! The cups were spot on with no bulging, the 3 hooked band was nice and snug, the fully adjustable straps with the cute heart adjusted didn’t dig in painfully. My only qualm was that the knickers were a bit too small. An XL roughly translates to a size 16, and these hips aint no 16! However, the soft stretchy material didn’t create too much of an unflattering silhouette, and they are certainly wearable. Fingers crossed that once the company launches and becomes popular they will consider introducing larger sizes.

tr2

The bra does give me a gentle cleavage. It’s not an overly projected shape, making it perfect as a more casual bra, or as a prettier bra to wear out under a fancy dress. I wore it to work underneath my white shirt, and I was very comfortable in it as I moved about during my 6 hour shift. I didn’t experience any digging in under the arms, any movement or any other discomfort.

IMG_5617

Pink is not a colour I tend to favour, however, this softer bubblegum pink is undeniably gorgeous and very suited to my colouring. I love the white lace details seen on the cups and briefs, as well as the beautiful bows.

IMG_5619

As I mentioned, the shape the cups give me is gorgeous. The bra is made out of a three part construction, and I find that even with padded bras that can sometimes give way to a pointy shape. However, Liliana keeps my boobs looking perky, rounded and gorgeous.  The top part of the cups is unpadded, which helps it lie against the bust rather than cut in.

IMG_5616

The bra band is not overly rigid, meaning it was easy to fasten and nice and snug. I found that the sizing of the Tutti Rouge Liliana reflected that of Panache.

Tutti Rouge will start to hit stores from May onwards, so keep an eye on their Facebook page for more information, and more product photos. They will also be launching their website at around the same time.

I am excited to see what the future hold for Tutti Rouge. They may not stock as many sizes as full busted women would like, but give them time and I am sure things will change. To start off with 28 bands and padded bras up to an HH across all the band sizes is amazing, and I feel sure that they will soon become a favourite for many large breasted women who are crying out for flirty fun bra styles.

What do you think of Tutti Rouge and the Liliana bra? Will you be trying them out for yourself? Let me know in the comments :)

When it comes to DD+ underwear, the world still has a long way to go! I feel very blessed that I live in England, seemingly the breast country when it comes to providing large babylons with comfortable houses. However, there are still not as many options for us fuller bust ladies as there are for A-DD ladies.

Enter: Lissome Lingerie, a brand that caters predominantly for DD+ women, as well as smaller busted women.

Sarah was lovely enough to contact me recently to ask if I wanted to review a Panache bra. Naturally, I excitedly accepted and waited patiently for the Cleo Lucy in a 36H.

lucy_bra_thong_purple

It arrived just a few days later, and as soon as I unwrapped the tissue paper, I knew I had made the right choice!

The deep gorgeous purple bra and contrast hot pink bow are a large busted girl’s lingerie wet dream! Gone are the days when we had to wear frumpy ugly itchy bras or nothing else, this soft sheer vivid bra is proof that DD+ underwear options have come on in leaps and bounds.

IMG_5318

The cups have subtle flower patterns stitched into them, and are made of of a 3 part construction.

IMG_5319

The sheer cups are sexily misleading. You’d think that the weight of a large heavy natural bust would need nothing short of a couple of cranes to keep it aloft, never mind what it would need to keep it looking orb like. However, the Lucy managed to do magical things to my boobies, despite it feeling like it’s made out of spider webs!

IMG_5313

The wires are a good height on me. They contain my side boob without digging in throughout the day.
IMG_5312

The straps are fully adjustable, and the band has two hooks and eyes.

IMG_5315

To me, Lucy fits just like every other Panache bra. Very true to size with a nice firm supportive band, and cups that do not dig into the edge on my boobs, despite pretty stitching and detailing.

I’m really and truly in Love with the Panache Cleo Lucy. As ever, I am never 100% happy until I have 3 hooks and eyes going on, but when a bra looks this good and gives my chest that amount of orbyness I can over look such details.

If you fancy getting yourself a Cleo Lucy or anything else from Lissome Lingerie then I strongly urge you do so withing the next two weeks, as the code ‘FFFB20′ will give you 20% off your order. It cannot be used in conjunction with any other promotions.

Thank you Sarah and Lissome Lingerie for proving yourself to be another trustworthy place to turn too in the quest for the support of the breast.

Gaining Confidence

22 Mar

I often get comments that express admiration at my confidence. It flatters me, as I do believe that body confidence is one of the most attractive things anyone can have. The ability to present yourself not as egotistical, but as cool, calm and happy with yourself. It’s not something that we are born with, or something that comes easily to us all. It’s not about looks, it’s more about feeling at peace with yourself and feeling comfortable. Here are my tips on how to feel a little more confident and self assured.

Naturally, it goes without saying that the first place you should look too to feel happier and more confident is…your underwear drawer. Ill fitting bras and uncomfortable knickers are enough to knock anyone’s confidence. If you are UK based I would urge you to get to a Bravissimo for a fitting. If you would prefer you can email or call them and they will be able to advise you that way. Alternatively, you can check out Butterfly Collection’s bra calculator which will be able to give you a size that is very close to what you should be wearing. For more information about the styles of bras out there and what they can do, check out my video:

Check out my bra fitting posts here.

In terms of knickers, this post by The Lingerie Addict is a great read for ladies looking for a little comfort in the undercracker department. My advice is to always buy knickers that do not dig in, do not irritate you and if they match your bra? Bonus!

Of course, it doesn’t end there with underwear. My favourite piece of underwear after my bra has to be my shapewear. I know that a lot of women turn their noses up at the idea of shapewear and see it as ‘cheating’ and an annoyance, but personally I adore it. It helps put my mind at ease that my tight dress isn’t showing too much of my bulgey stomach, and it makes me feel smooth, streamlined and carefree. This is my favourite piece:
maidenformxl

This is how the shapewear looks when worn with a fairly loose corset.

This is how the shapewear looks when worn with a fairly loose corset.

It is by Maidenform and I adore it. The straps mean that it won’t roll down, and the shorts mean that it won’t roll up – even on my rather large thighs! The only problem with it is that going to the loo can be…ahem…tricky. It has a convenient ‘slit’, designed to make such actions easier, but it’s still something that baffles some, and can take a bit of getting used too!

Once your underwear is in order, you can feel like you are ready to take on the world! You feel younger, slimmer, walk taller and your outfits can look far better. I get countless emails from women who have been fitted for a better bra or found some that work well for them, and they are all positive. These women feel happier and more body positive without having to lose or gain weight or have surgery.

Personally, I always feel a lot happier after exercise. Don’t get me wrong, I loathe going to the gym as much as anyone! But when I leave, red faced, sweating and breathing heavily, I do feel body positive, even though I am a long way away from being happy with my size. Sometimes all I need to do in a few sit ups or go for a short jog. Sometimes it’s a full gym session. It’s not for everyone, but it works for me.

Taking care of my nails, skin and hair is also something that makes me feel good. Yes, they are appearance based and it is vain, but personally I feel a lot more put together when I feel confident with my looks.

Due to my job, I can’t paint my nails too often. But when I can, I do and it makes me feel ultra feminine. Sometimes I indulge myself with a salon treatment, and often turn here for interesting offers on professional manicures in London. I am also a huge fan of pedicures, and my trusty Ped-Egg is the best thing that I have found to use on them. Clean smooth feet with painted toes are something that you don’t even need to show anyone or spend much time and money on – it can just make you feel a whole lot better about yourself.

I dye and straighten and curl and generally abuse my hair way too much! And so treating it to the odd hair mask is a must!. I do love to go the the hairdress when I have the time and money, but it’s just so easy to do some cleaning or cooking whilst my hair rejuvenates in a hair mask, and in a few hours it’s back to looking gorgeous and healthy.

I am also a huge sucker for a face mask, as is my boyfriend!

Pardon my face!

Pardon my face!

It’s another quick cheap easy DIY treatment that really changes how you feel about yourself. I rarely wear foundation, and I attribute that to my face mask obsession and all the water I drink. I have tried a few homemade masks to varying degrees of success, but my favourite has to be this mud mask.

There are of course ways that will and won’t work for various people with regards to feeling happy and confident and exuding that. This post was just my way of sharing how I go about making myself feel like ‘me’. I hope that it has not come across as a vain post, but generally speaking appearance is something that we all rely heavily on to make us feel good about ourselves. I would love to hear from other people with regards to what you do to feel confident and happy within yourself :)

Volup2: Simplicity

16 Mar

Last year I was lucky enough to be selected to model from Velvet d’Amour’s magazine Volup2. That was the day the love affair between us was born! I love how at ease Velvet makes me feel in front of the camera, how she totally understood what I wanted and what I liked and disliked about myself, and how I should trust her! You can book a shoot with her via her website Velvetography.

The Maggie Babydoll By Elomi

2 Mar

I don’t think I’m wrong in saying that when you have a larger bust you can sometimes struggle with finding items that small busted women have readily available to them. And for me, one of those items is a babydoll.
I’ve tried out various items from Ann Summers, however, they have always been far too small in the bust and far too big in the band. And so when I saw that Elomi had released the Maggie babydoll I immediately wanted to try it!

Maggie, 36-42 bands, F-GG cups

Maggie, 36-42, F-GG

Sadly, Maggie stops at a GG cup. However, not to be defeated, I decided to try it in a 38GG, the sister size to my 36H. As babydolls are ‘bedroom’ attire, I figured it would be something I could get away with.

Thankfully, Maggie has quite a firm band. The 38GG arrived, and it fit me rather well.

IMG_4896

IMG_4875

IMG_4869

The three hooks and eyes and fully adjustable straps were as welcome as always. I adored the keyhole detail below the backband, and the length was perfect on me. The shape the cups gave me was glorious, especially for non padded cups.

IMG_4904

IMG_4902

The cups fit very well on me, although it would have been nice if they were a bit higher at the sides. And if I were to be really picky, I would love it if someone made large cupped babydolls that nipped in at the waist a little more. As whilst Maggie worked for me in terms of fit, I can’t help but think she would have been more flattering if I had a little more waist definition.

What are your thoughts on babydolls? Have you found any that fit? Do you love them, loathe them?

Smoothie Operator

1 Mar

My love for the Deco bra by Freya is one that is so strong and all consuming, it makes me break bra rules! I squeeze my 36H chest into their 36GG bras because of the unrivalled cleavage and oomph they give me, and I’ve yet to find a bra that fits properly and does the same.

Some time ago, Curvy Kate released a moulded plunge called the ‘Smoothie’, a bra that was actually named by Curvywordy! It followed the Showgirl sizing, meaning that it only went up to a 38G/36GG/34H and so on with the sister sizes.
Curvy_Kate_Smoothie_Black_Bra_Thong

Of course, I just had to try the Smoothie out. I decided to go for a 36GG and crossed my fingers that it would be a little more generous than the Deco.

The Smoothie has three hooks and eyes, which gives it one over on the Deco in my book. It has fully adjustable straps that were easy to self adjust and didn’t appear to slip. The bra is subtly leopard printed, and both it and the thong have a small leopard print pendant at the front centre. It’s been a while since I felt a brand new Deco, but I did think that the Smoothie was a tad stiffer than the Deco.

I took my Smoothie on holiday with me so that I could try it out underneath my pretty summer dresses. Here is how it fared…

viet2

Viet

Viet3

I was impressed by the shape and lift the bra gave me – it was extremely similar to the Deco in terms of fit and comfort.

smoothie

I did feel like it contained me a little more that my Deco both at the side, and the top. And so I decided to compare it to my 36GG Honey Deco – and lo and behold:

IMG_4906

IMG_4907

The back band fit well, although I may try a 34H with my next Smoothie as I felt there was a little give in the band.

IMG_4858

IMG_4847

IMG_4848

The matching thong was an optimistic size 18 and sadly it didn’t quite cut it on me – or should I say, it DID cut it – my love handles that is!

I’m pretty excited at the way this bra fits, and even my anti pink rule can’t resist the lure of this little number:
Curvy-Kate-SS13-Lingerie-Smoothie-Hot-Pink

I’m hoping that Smoothie may answer a few ladies prayers. I know that those who are sized out by the sister sizing system will be disappointed, but fingers crossed that this exciting development in the Deco rivaling stakes means that other companies will follow suit – or that Freya/Curvy Kate will expand their size range.

Why not check out Cheryl’s review here and Kelly’s review here.

What do you think of the Smoothie? Have you tried it or would you like too?

A Trio Of Bravissimo Bras

30 Jan

Bravissimo are always my go to when it comes to recommending excellent bra fitting services to women. And thanks to their huge colourful range of bras I often point custom their way when women lament over the selection of ‘Granny bras’ that they often feel are their only options. However, it has been quite some time since I tried out a Bravissimo house brand bra, and so I recently used their super fast efficient customer service and postal delivery to order myself these three bras:

Paradiso Plume Bra, 28-28, DD-J

Paradiso Plume Bra, 28-38, DD-J

Fleur Bra, 30-40, F-K

Fleur Bra, 30-40, F-K

Purity Bra, 28-28, F-J

Purity Bra, 28-38, F-J

I ordered them all in a 36H, as although I sometimes need a 34 band, Bravissimo bras often come up fairly firm.

The first out of the box was the Purity bra. It is described as a balconette, but the photo reminded me of a Freya Deco plunge bra and I was excited to see if I could finally be able to do away with my badly fitted moulded beauties once and for all…
IMG_3502
As you can see, the bra gives me a smooth look with a nice rounded appearance. I was fully encased in the cups as did not spill out the tops of them.
IMG_3505
Sadly, I found the strap placement and subsequent cut of the bra meant that I was left with less coverage by my armpit, resulting in a spillage situation.
IMG_3504
It is not something that will be rectified by a size change, but it will be good news for women who complain about the straps sliding off their shoulders, or their bra digging in under their arms.
IMG_3507
The band was a good firm fit, and the three hooks and eyes and fully adjustable straps made the incompatibility of the strap placement and cut even more heartbreaking. Sadly it was not quite what I was hoping for, but the potential to rival the Deco is these!

Next up, I tried the Paradiso Plume.
IMG_3508
The cut of the bra reminds me of the ‘Demi Diva’ from a few years ago, and the lack of padding resulting is such amazing uplift astonished me.
IMG_3512
The bra is utterly utterly gorgeous, the feather and flower pattern is very unique. I am so chuffed to see something so young and flirty in the large cup market.
IMG_3518
I adore the double bows on the straps and the pretty pink frill at the edge of the cups. They encased me perfectly, and it was an instant favourite.
IMG_3520
And of course, the three hooks and eyes and fully adjustable straps, well, you know I love it!

Last up was the Fleur Bra.
IMG_3527
Teal with raspberry detailing!? How could I NOT try this scrumptious bra out!
IMG_3535
The bra did give me a fairly rounded boosted shape.  The cups sat perfectly on me and I had no spillage or side boob. It’s interesting to note that with all three of these bras I have no gaps at the bottom of the cups, meaning that my bust shape is very compatible with the wire shape that Bravissimo uses.
IMG_3539
This bra was the comfiest of the three, and I felt like I was very strapped down and secure when in it. I like that it is pretty to look at without needing sheer cups.
IMG_3540
Big thumbs up for those three hooks and eyes and the straps!

When ordering the three bras I expected to adore the Purity, quite like the colour of the Fleur and be ambivalent about the Paradiso.  Therefore I am surprised by how these bras have fitted and looked on me. The Paradiso is my absolute favourite out of the three in terms of colour, fit and comfort, and I really hope that Bravissimo continue to bring out gorgeous patterns and boob boosting styles like that one.

Which was your favourite? Do you like the Bravissimo house brands bras? Let me know in the comments.

A Guest Review Of The Panache Porcelain Body By Kate Nolan

30 Jan

I’ve always been a little curious about bra bodies, and so I enlisted the help of a friend to write a review of hers…

Hello lovely readers of FFFB!

A little while ago I purchased the Panache Porcelain body in 30G. George kindly gave me the amazing opportunity to review it for her.

Overall, sadly, I think it was distinctly average. The bra part of the contraption fit okay, but not perfectly and it only really held in my flab a tiny bit. 1

3

I found that my torso seemed to be somewhat too long for it, for example, if I pulled the bra up to where I would be happy wearing it, then I got a major wedgie and everything seemed stretched. Besides that it didn’t stay there and I was constantly pulling it up. If I left the bra where it sat naturally, there was folding in the bottom of the cups under my boobs. My boobs weren’t at all supported. This problem was rectified by using the straps included with it, but the reason I bought it was to use it for a strapless dress. 6

7

Also, weirdly, I seemed to have a weird back fat situation where the back band of the bra pushed my back fat down but the body pushed my back fat up resulting in a back-fat-flap. Most uncool.

The material used was really silky and super comfortable, but not as firm as I was hoping for; I wanted something to hold me in but I found it just altered my shape slightly. I don’t often wear shapewear so I’m not an expert and maybe I had far too high expectations, but I found it did very little for making my flab less flabby. I constantly tell my ribcage off for needing protective fat because I hate the bulge underneath my bra. I hoped that because this was a bra combined with something intended to disguise reality, that maybe I wouldn’t get an under-bra-band-bulge. I was not to be.

And also, maybe I’m nit-picking, but the cup kept denting in the middle. It was even noticeable under my dress.

8

On a more positive note, the band was firm and cup true to size. However, sadly the cons outweighed the pros and my quest for the perfect bra body continues!

Thanks for reading!  Please let me know if you are a fan of bra bodies and which ones you have tried.

My Photoshoot With ‘My Boudoir’

17 Jan

Just before Christmas I received an email from a lovely lady called Nicola who wanted to know if I fancied having some ‘boudoir’ shots taken with her. She said liked my blog and my confidence, and she thought I could help inspire other larger women to take pride in their bodies and feel like a star in front of her lens. She sent me a link to her Boudoir photography website and Facebook page as well as a few examples of her photos, and encouraged me to peruse her work and make a decision when I was ready.

I must admit that at first I was somewhat hesitant to take her up on her offer. The word ‘boudoir’ conjured up all sorts of images for me, and my first thought was that I would be expected to have a nude shoot, something that panicked me for a variety of reasons. However, I couldn’t ignore that her work was amazing, her ‘Before&After’ photos spoke for themselves and I wanted to look amazing like the girls in the shots! After emailing back and forth a few times with her, I felt reassured that I would be asked to do nothing that took me out of my comfort zones, and I couldn’t wait to look like a glamourous bombshell!

I live in London, and Nicola’s shoots take place in her house in Ramsbottom, Manchester, a speedy bullet train journey away. She was very understanding about the times I would arrive and leave, and arranged for me to be picked up and dropped off at the station by the lovely Gary, who waited patiently for me at the station with my name on a sign, carried my bags to the car and dropped me off at Nicola’s house. I was greeted by two excited French bulldogs and a smiling huggy Nicola, who checked that I was ok with the dogs being there. She then ushered me into the lounge where I was introduced to Sarah, the hair and make up artist. I was asked about the kind of make up and hair I wanted, and Sarah was very thorough with the exact looks I wanted for my hair, eyes, eyebrows and so on. She was great fun to talk with, and it felt like no time at all before I was ready to take a look into the mirror. I could not have been more pleased at what I saw! She had really captured the look I so often try to emulate, and I couldn’t get over the way I looked!
397689_565451536212_2131475934_n
I felt ready to take on the camera, and I followed Nicola upstairs to start my shoot.
Nicola had selected the outfits from my suitcase that she thought would work best, and left me to change into look number one, my Morticia corset from What Katie Did and Bravissimo Demi Diva set.

The room where the shoots takes place is actually Nicola’s bedroom! It, along with her whole house and the lady herself, have a wonderful vintage feel too it. The room was nice and warm, some great upbeat girly songs were playing and I felt very at ease. I changed into outfit number one and then Nicola came back to just help make last minute adjustments to my corset.

The first pose that she wanted me in really helped break the ice! I had to lie on the floor by her wardrobe with my legs up against the wardrobe, my body in an ‘L’ shape. Let me tell you that doing that in 6 inch heels, a tightly laced corset and knickers that tie up and the side was no mean feat, and poor Nicola must have got many an eyeful as I navigated myself into the pose! But luckily she was very patient, and once I was in position she gave me direction on the placement of my legs, handed me a gorgeous vintage telephone and then started snapping. It was quite hot under the lights, and some positions that I had to hold made me feel like I was getting a work out, but thanks to Nicola’s wonderful direction and editing, I think I look rather good!
118
After that I changed into my Fauve Rosa set and faux fur coat and had some fun looking elegant on her chaise lounge and cheetah rug.
104

102

122

124
Next, I changed into my Dollydagger Dita dress and assumed various positions on the satin strewn bed. Once again, she did not disappoint with the images she created.
110

100
By this point I felt very at ease with Nicola. I was used to the bright hot lights, the positions that look so natural in the photos, but can take a bit of concentration and effort to hold and maintain, and her frequent directions and praise – something that really makes me relax with a photographer.

I changed into my Erin dress from Pinup Girl Clothing for the next few shots, and I just love how she made me look in the shot with the umbrella.
116

128

Last but not least, I changed into my Masquerade Rhea bra and pink corset (code ‘FullFigure1 gets you 10% off at Hot Corsets) and my absolute favourite image was born – something that surprised me as I really loathe pink!

Nicola took a few face shots and made me look utterly classically beautiful, I gasped when I saw the photos!

Luckily for impatient me, Nicola had the photos edited and sent to me the very next day, and like I said above I was in AWE of how I looked in them! She had taken into account my hatred of my arms and legs, and managed to get the absolute best out of me in the images. Yes, her style it to enchance with photoshop, and yes I don’t look natural in some of the shots, but I adore every images she sent me and I feel very privileged to have had such a wonderful experience. It’s something I would definitely look into doing again, and I’m even considering buying a package for my best friend who deserves a dolled up experience.

As I have proven, ‘boudoir’ shoots are all about posing in outfits that you feel happy in. Whether that’s your birthday suit or a full suit, I’m sure that Nicola and Sarah could work their magic on you and make you feel like a goddess. And the great thing is, if you’re not overly keen of a photo or part of a photo, Nicola will change it for you until you are satisfied. She has never produced anything less than mind blowing images, and I want to thank her and Sarah for my wonderful experience, and I hope I have convinced a few of you to let the ladies make you feel like a princess at My Boudoir.

The Bra Adventures Of A Petite Pear – A Guest Post By Heather Mason

16 Jan

I haven’t hosted a guest post in a while, but after a few comments and requests from some of my readers I am very happy to share this offering with you. It’s a testimony from my beautiful friend of 14 years. She has quite a different problem when it comes to bras and she’ll take you through her journey in this post:

I am pear shaped. I am not short enough to be classed as petite. I have curves. I don’t have big boobs but I do have a good bum. These are all thing that I tell myself on a daily basis.

I’m 5’5, my measurements are 31”, 25”, 33”. In reality I am not an extreme pear shape, but when I measure round my bum and the tops of my thighs my measurement there is 40”. I have struggled for years to come to terms with this and at 17 was told by my mum that I had child bearing hips – not something that has come into use yet – as a result I have tried numerous diets, exercises and have even tried some awful slendertone ‘fat burning’ shorts, not something I would recommend.

I would say that it’s only been in that past few years that I have really learnt to dress for my shape and this has helped me to become so much more comfortable with being a Pear.

A year ago I finally got down to a weight that I had been trying to achieve for a long time and with the weight I lost I also lost several cup sizes, or so I thought. I decided to get myself fitted properly and went to House of Fraser, I have to say the lady that fitted me was absolutely amazing. She asked me what size I was and at the time I had estimated myself to be a 34 A to which she tutted and wondered off muttering about how tiny my underbust was, and came back with several 30 C’s and a 32C. Looking down at my chest I was surprised she had picked a C but as I’m not a bra fitter or expert in those matters, I didn’t object and instead tried it on. I was immediately amazed at how much better it felt, the back was so much more supportive and my boobs actually looked bigger! After buying all three matching sets she had picked I strutted off home a happy customer. Below is one of the sets that I bought, to this day I still love it.

Since then I have always stuck to shopping in HoF for my underwear. I have ventured a few times into La Senza, Topshop and New Look, but as the high street brands don’t tend to go down to a 30 my trips have been unsuccessful. This is changed just before Christmas when H&M brought out a new campaign for their ‘super push up’ bra’s and I have to admit I was completely sucked in.

2 3I tried the two above sets on, as pictured above and they did not disappoint. I tried them both on in a 32C in desperate hope that the band wouldn’t be too loose, and knowing that the cups may be a tad small. Just my luck, the band with three hooks and eyes was the perfect fit and had great lift, even without the straps.

The bottoms are high-waisted which help give you the whole pin up girl, retro feel, plus it means no risk of the elastic band digging in at the hips.

The pink and black lace set is my favourite of the two, with detachable bra and suspender straps it means you can wear it lots of different ways, I’ve been wearing it mainly without the straps as I’ve found it has replaced my strapless Wonderbra. I am so impressed with the lift of this bra and how comfortable it is. The bottoms are super comfortable as well, but as you can see from the pictures they don’t come as high on the model.

The other set, which I bought in black, had the same great lift, strong band and three hooks and eyes. The only problem with this set is that the straps are thicker than the usual bra straps, but with the cute diamante detail I’m easily won round.

After having such a success with H&M I would definitely recommend trying them out if you should also be blessed with a perfect handful. I also have to admit that my outlook on high street brands has is starting to change, and rather than immediately assuming they won’t cater to me I’ll definitely go in and try the item on. Being petite with a smaller chest can throw up as many problems as being larger with a voluptuous chest, and it’s not the easy shopping experience that many envision. A great fit is important, no matter what your size, and I’m so glad I have found sets to cater to mine.
