A Dash Of Cream

30 Apr

One of the joys of being a blogger is that I get offered clothes to review from a variety of stores. I often play it safe and stick to items that tick the majority of my preference boxes – but when I was contacted by Desire recently I decided to try something a little out of my comfort zone. Something short, sleeveless, pale and lacey – this dress.

dress

An old friend of mine with a gorgeous busty apple shape used to wear dresses like this, and I was always so jealous of how she looked. I knew I would be unlikely to pull it off as well as she did, but I was determined to give it a try.

I opted for the dress in a size 20, as although it was listed as being made with “95% Polyester, 5% Elastane”, I worried that an 18 would not accomodate my bust.

The dress arrived just a few days later, and here is how it looked…

Not too bad! It fit over my bust and has a nice amount of stretch too it. However, the waist was tragically big on me. I intended to show how the dress looked as it was, no ‘Georging’, but I wanted to show how I would take a style that I’ve never tried and make it work. And so I added…

IMG_5911

A belt from eBay.

IMG_5924

A bolero from Excite Clothing, and of course my Yours Clothing tights and heels from M&S.

IMG_5917

It’s really not a dress that I ever thought I would wear, but by adding the bold red touches, covering my arms and cinching my waist in with a belt I feel a lot happier and a lot more like me.
The dress is lovely and soft, a the lining helps prevent any static and makes it sit nicely.

My Birthday is approaching – maybe this will be the perfect dress to have a little boogie in!

It’s safe to say that I have been well and truly removed from my comfort zone with this Cream Floral Lace Overlay Skater Dress, but by adding a few of my finishing touches and favourite accessories, I’ve managed to make it work for me. Just don’t ask me to go out without the tights on!

The Winning Entry…

3 Apr

Thank you to everyone who entered my competition to win a photo shoot with My Boudoir. Myself, Nicola and Sarah loved reading all of your entries, and it was a tough call but we managed to pick a winner. Her letter made us smile as we loved her honesty and energy. Here is her letter and favourite photo of herself:

Hi Pam

How are you?

It’s been a while since we’ve been caught up together so I thought I’d write you a letter.

You now how you get with these, so let’s try and keep this short, sweet and to the point! See you’re rambling in the first sentence!

Ok, it’s been a while since you’ve taken stock, the last few years have been full of change around you, countries, jobs, wedding and future weddings.

But there’s a couple of things which are constant, which you really need to appreciate more of.

You’re lucky, you have the most amazing parents, siblings and friends, you’ve managed to surround yourself with the most encouraging people who love you for who you are.

You have a future husband, who’s been to the ends of the earth and back for you, (not many people would do that!) and through it all, the thing I love most about you personally, is that you’ve stayed true to who you are. Well done woman! You know who you are, you know what you stand for and you don’t try and be anything else!

A lot of people thought moving country, starting a new relationship and such were because you had changed (ie: gone mental!), but actually it’s because you were finally showing the world who you were. There is a fine line between confident and cocky of which you are very aware of, but sometimes your confidence in who you are can be misconstrued and your fearlessness does scare other people! You’re also really stubborn! Blame dad for that! You got the best and worst of your parents!

You’ve got the amazing Indian black hair, you look like a proper Punjabi woman, with the boobs and the butt! I love your wibbly wobbliness, although I still can’t believe Ben compared you a to a weeble wobble! Apparently you’re perfectly balanced! Well perhaps physically! Lol!

Anyhoo, as well as being blessed physically, you’ve got an likeable personality, but like everything else in life, keep working at it, keep learning and don’t take it for granted! Keep getting up in the morning and start each day as you do: “Wow, Pam, you’ve never looked as good as you do today!”. Keep smiling, keep loving, keep trying to get fit, keep making lists of things to do, keep reprioritising your priorities, keep organising your music library, just keep going!

I wouldn’t want to be anyone else in the world but you. I love you.

From yours eternally

Pam xx

p.s: Sing woman: #I’m sexy and I know it.. duh duh duh du, dum dum dum “wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle wiggle“! #

Pam, looking gorgeous in the blue dress.

Pam, looking gorgeous in the blue dress.

I will be posting some of the other letters and photos on my Facebook page in the weeks to come, and then hopefully sharing Pam’s photos and experiences from her shoot, so stay tuned for that.

Again, thank you to everyone who entered my competition and bared your souls to us.  We really loved reading your entries.

Busty Basics

7 Mar

As you will have seen in my previous post, when on holiday in Vietnam recently I took advantage of the cheap and plentiful tailors and tried to get myself a custom fit dress. Whilst there, I also tried to get a hoodie made. It’s something so basic, but it is so hard for me to find one that fits! They’re either too baggy, too tight with the pockets too high up, or the zip fails to climb any further around my bust. I have found a few hoodies that have come close, but often the pocket situation occurs, which in turn loses my waist and I struggle with that. Sadly, the tailors couldn’t quite meet my needs for a zip up hoodie with pockets, and so I gave it a miss and vowed to look harder on the high street.

Not so long ago, I was in Primark with my boyfriend. He has a few size medium Primark hoodies that I do wear, however, they are quite baggy on me. And so I thought I would try the size smalls, just to see if they would work any better…

Hoodie3

Wowsa! What a great fit! They could fit a *tiny* bit better on my waist, but at ten pounds a pop I was more than happy with them. I went all out and got three of these beauties in a few of my favourite colours. They zip up easily, the pockets sit perfectly and the length is spot on.

Hoodie2

I didn’t find much variation between the colours in terms of fit. The hoodies come in about 8 different colours, and it was hard to pick just these three!

Hoodie1

The jeans worn in my post are from Evans Clothing and the boots are from Australia.

Are you also a fan of hoodies, but do you struggle to find any that fit well? If you can’t get to a Primark then you may be interested in these hoodies from BiuBiu that are designed to fit a larger bust.

Bravissimo To Launch ‘Boob School’

3 Mar

MAJORITY OF UK WOMEN ARE MAKING BRA BOOBS

Ø  SEVEN BRA FAUX PAS REVEALED FOR THE FIRST TIME

Ø  4 IN 5 UK WOMEN WEARING THE WRONG SIZE BRA

Ø  LINGERIE RETAILER TO LAUNCH BOOB SCHOOL TO HELP WOMEN TO BE BRA AWARE

2013 may be the 100th anniversary of the brassiere, but it appears that the majority of UK women are making a series of boobs when it comes to their bras according to research published today.

The study of more than 1,000 women by retailer, Bravissimo, found that there are seven common faux pas that British women are making, namely; The Quadraboob, The Side Boob, The Ledge, The High Rider, The Big Stand Off, Saggy Cups and Super Drooper.. In response to the findings, Bravissimo is now launching the world’s first Boob School to help other women avoid falling into these booby traps.

The most common faux pas experienced by women was The Side Boob (41%), where the wires in the cup of the bra sit on the boob rather than the ribcage causing the boobs to spill out over the sides of the bra.  This was closely followed by The High Rider (39%), where the back of the bra is too loose and rides up and the dreaded Quadraboob (36%), caused by boobs spilling over the top of the cup, giving the impression of four boobs.

The research revealed that four in every five UK women admit to regularly experiencing at least one of the seven bra faux pas, all of which are a result of wearing badly fitting lingerie.

The likelihood of making a bra faux pas was also proportional to the size of women’s boobs, with bigger boobed ladies experiencing more problems finding a properly fitted bra and dealing with the challenges of having more to handle in the first place!  The Quadraboob was the biggest pitfall for bigger boobed ladies, with 53% of women who were above a GG cup size falling prey.

The seven bra faux pas and the percentage of UK women who admit to having them are as follows:

  • The Side Boob (wires in the cup sitting on your boob rather than your ribcage) 41%
  • The High Rider (the back of the bra riding up) 39%
  • The Quadraboob (bust spilling over the top of the cup, giving the impression of four boobs) 36%
  • The Big Stand Off (the front of the bra doesn’t sit flat on the sternum) 28%
  • The Super Drooper (not enough support, saggy boobs) 26%
  • Saggy Cups (too much fabric creating wrinkly cups) 24%
  • The Ledge (over uplift, transforming your boobs into something that resembles a ledge) 12%

Although all the faux pas identified could be avoided by wearing a good fitting bra, only one in five women said that they were extremely confident that they were wearing the correct bra size. This is unsurprising, as the study also identified several reasons why women continually experience such uncertainty about their bra size. Over a two year period, three quarters (77%) have lost or gained weight, 62% have changed their clothes size, 17% have gone through the menopause and 10% have had a baby, all potentially impacting upon their bra size.

However, despite the shifts in boob size that women are experiencing, 24% of UK women admitted to having never had a bra fitting and 21% haven’t been for a fitting for at least four years.

Bravissimo is now launching Boob School in a bid to help women feel brilliant about their boobs.  Boob School will talk to women about their boobs, give advice on what they should be looking for in a perfectly fitting bra by following their simple lessons online, via a Facebook app or in store   Women of the UK wanting to enroll in Boob School should visit www.facebook.com/Bravissimo or www.bravissimo.com/boob-school (live from 4 March) or one of their 21 stores in the UK

Jo Lee, Buying and Marketing Director at Bravissimo, comments: “We’d noticed for some time that there were a number of booby traps women were falling into, normally because they’ve never experienced a proper fitting and they simply don’t know how to spot the signs that their bra is no longer giving them the support they need.

“By identifying the seven classic bra faux pas and launching Boob School, we’re hoping that women everywhere can become more knowledgeable about what makes a really good fitting bra, so they feel more confident about their bra size now and into the future and our brilliant British boobs can finally get the treatment they deserve!”

The Bravissimo research was conducted by Curiosity Research. 1155 women of all ages from across the UK completed the survey.

Other findings from the research included:

Ø  Around 2 in 5 women feel comfortable telling a friend that they’ve made a bra faux pas

Ø  Woman from the North West would be the most likely to tell you with truth about your boobs, with 50% saying they’d tell their friend if they made a bra faux pas

Ø  Women from the South West and those aged 51+ are the least likely to have a bra faux pas making friend

Ø  A third of women have had a fitting in the last year. Half of those who are GG+ Cup size have had a fitting in the last year, the same applies to those aged 30 or under

Ø  A quarter of women who hadn’t had a fitting in more than 2 years feel they simply don’t need a fitting, whilst a fifth are too embarrassed

Ø  4 in 5 women own more than 5 bras, less than half wear more than 5 bras regularly

Ø  Three quarters of women like the way their boobs look in their bra

Bravissimo is already a firm favourite with The UK’s top fashion and lingerie bloggers.  Here’s what a couple of them have to say about how Bravissimo has changed their lives and their boobs!

Beckie Williams, Busts for Justice

www.busts4justice.com

“Before Bravissimo, I couldn’t walk down stairs without my boobs bouncing out of my bra cups. I had two choices: stay as still as possible at all times, or spend the whole day trying to hold them down and rearrange them without getting arrested for indecent behaviour. It was only when a Bravissimo fitter helped me in to a 30G (from a 34E) that I realised that that wasn’t normal. She helped me see that my body wasn’t weird, or awkward, or unruly – all this time it had just been put in to the wrong engineering. My new fit set me free. It’s been five years since my B-Day, and I still haven’t shut up talking about it. The perfect fit can make the difference between resenting and loving your curves – and every woman deserves to love the body they have”.

Stephanie Roper, Wardrobe Angel

www.wardrobeangel.co.uk

“When I was a teenager I went from a 32B to a 32D virtually overnight. It was a Lara Croft-esque nightmare when, just weeks later, I went to 32DD. I was the first girl in my year to grow such noticeably gargantuan breasts, I realised roll necks were not my friend and my mum had to take me to a specialist lingerie retailer which basically stocked bras for Grannies in order to get a bra which “fitted”. That was the choice – a pretty bra which didn’t fit or a granny bra which did.”

“When Bravissimo came on the scene it was as if my prayers had been answered: I could finally get bras that were pretty, they fitted and the staff were sympathetic. They even did swimwear. Which fitted! Prayers. Answered. The testimonials on their website and in their catalogue are genuine, from real women, which just shows they are getting something right and meeting a very real need.”

“Since then I have always appreciated their amazingly friendly staff and great stock package. Any Wardrobe Angel clients who are blessed in the chest area and are experiencing ill-fitting bras, I send them to Bravissimo and the success is evident.”

My Negative Blogging Experiences

26 Feb

I warn you now, this was a very hard post to write. I have tried to be as honest as possible, and I hope that those of you who read this will take something away from it.
Starting this blog has been life changing, in all the good ways. I have made some amazing friends, been introduced to fabulous clothing and lingerie brands, appeared in several magazines and newspapers both in this country and abroad. And the best part of all is that I have the most supportive, interesting lovely readers. However, blogging is not always the smooth ride it can sometimes appear to be. As with everything in life there is a downside. For me it has been a teeny tiny negative side effect of my amazing hobby, however, I would like to share my experiences as I feel they may be interesting to fellow bloggers, aspiring bloggers and avid readers of my blog.

How Others Perceive Me

Writing a blog that involves me posting snaps of myself in my skimpies on the internet will of course not always be met with great reactions. I come from a fairly strict, religious family, and naturally they are not thrilled by my hobby. When I partook in Curvy Kate’s ‘Star In A Bra’ 2011, that bridge got crossed and I remember nervously telling my Mum about it. They were not really supportive or happy with me being in such a competition, and I doubt they will ever understand why I blog. However, it has not made me regret starting it at all, and as I have always been the ‘alternative one’ I brush off their disapproval quite easily nowadays. My blog is my diary, my cathartic offload and my way of sharing, learning, helping and educating, and to me in my mind it makes perfect sense.

The way that fellow bloggers see me has been something of an education. I straddle both the plus size and the lingerie side of thing, and for that reason I have never felt fully accepted by some plus size bloggers. There are some who flatteringly see me as something of a guru, and really look forward to meeting me – something I find very strange! There are those who see me as an equal, and reference me and include me in things. And there are some who seem to be completely baffled by/resentful of what I do. It’s no secret that my blog is very successful. I’d like to think that my honestly, my variety and frequency of posts, my (constant!) online presence, my dutiful responses to the hundreds of emails and messages I get every month and my personality has helped with that. And with success comes admiration and resentment. I will never name names as I don’t need too, these women know who they are, but it does upset me to hear of and experience other bloggers who speak badly of me, namely because I pose in lingerie. They assume my success is largely because of the men who read my blog for non-educational purposes, and that I should tolerate the attention that some bestow on me. I don’t deny the fact that I must be an appeal some males, and indeed females because of my photos. But I can safely say that the majority of my readers are women, and that I will never ever relish or tolerate any sort of crude behaviour from anyone. It may come with the territory, but that doesn’t make it ok. Personally, I salute anyone who is successful at anything, and whilst jealousy is a natural human emotion that we cannot prevent, it should never give way to maliciousness. I take everything to heart, and so it does bother me a great deal when these women ostracize me or bad mouth me, but I have got such a huge support network that far outweighs how that small group treats me.

The way my friends see me has been largely amazing. I am blessed to have some wonderful people in my life who have been my support where others have failed me. I guess the only downside has been that I am now bra OBSESSED, and it must annoy my friends when it trickles into my Facebook feeds and our conversations, which in turn can make me feel awkward.

Trolls

The joy of being online means, of course, that faceless spineless people come out to play. I have been told I’m fat too many times to count. Despite me admitting and accepting it, it can sometimes still hurt for a few minutes, but it’s not something I dwell on like I used too when I was at school (and ironically had an amazing figure). I’ve been told that I undo all of the good work of doctors, nurses, teachers and other such professionals, as I am basically a slut. Possibly most infuriatingly of all, I have had people comment on posts with comments that imply they didn’t even read it. Example: I wrote a post about Adele, and in the posts I said something along the lines of ‘Adele is not as curvy as some other women – Kelly Brook for example, despite the fact that Adele is larger.’ It was meant to refer to the fact that ‘curvy’ is not a size, it is a shape. I received a charming little comment from someone, who was clearly outraged at my blasphemy, and informed me that I wasn’t curvy, I was just fat with big tits. Delightful. It’s hard not to take such things to heart, and I do my best to laugh off outlandish ill informed comments. It’s just part of being online, although it is hard to swallow at times.

Plus Size Stigmas

Those of you who have read this post will know my views on body snarking and bitchiness. Sadly, it does seem to be the case that larger women and people who admire those women physically will often bash slim women, and assume that all larger women should feel equally venomous. You definitely can be proud of your body and size and shape, but it should never be at the expense of others. And you should never assume that everyone feels the same way. I see red at comments on Facebook pages that make jokes and digs about slim women being ‘bones’ and ‘tooth picks’, and when I try to put an end to the venom I am often met with shock! How dare a large woman such as myself stand up for women who are slim! But do you know why I do it? Because I have been that person being picked on for my size too many times, and I do not like seeing others receive the same hurt that I did. Being proud of your shape and size and being a ‘real women’ can happen at any size, but only when you truly accept difference as another option, not as something to be mocked. Real women do not bully other women in order to make themselves feel better.

My Facebook Page

Oh the joys I have had with my Facebook page! In hindsight, I should have named it ‘Fuller Figure Fuller Bust – The Facebook page for my blog of the same name’ or something equally as obvious, as the description passes most people by. I write a blog that involves a lot of lingerie reviews, and so I often share and post photos of lingerie models. These women are typically slim and shapely, and you can imagine the outrage from women who have merely read my Facebook page name and nothing more and then they feel cheated by seeing a slim woman! I try to tell them, time and time again that my page is an extension of my blog, but it mostly falls on deaf ears and I have grown pretty tired of trying to explain. I am just grateful that those women make up a tiny percentage of my lovely fans, and the rest of the ladies often jump in on my behalf to defend me and the page.
Another frequent occurrence on the page, similar to the one I just discussed, happens when I post images and links to anything cup size related. I am forever trying to educate women about cup size misconceptions, the signs of ill fitting bras and the sizes of lingerie models, and some women who happen to ‘pass through’ the page without knowing about my blog get very confused. I’d like to think that my knowledge on properly fitted bras is far better than most bra fitters – in fact, countless fittings have led me to believe that it definitely is! And so I will try to be patient and explain things to women, and although it can mostly go well, I get the odd incident where women are scornful and mocking, failing to listen to my logic behind my preachings and that can make me so frustrated! I know I can be too passionate and hot headed, but my blog is my passion, and I want every woman everywhere to own at least 3 well fitted bras, and to understand how and why they fit so well.

My Blog Is My Baby

I am currently on holiday as I write this post, cruising several thousand feet above Vietnam on my way from Hoi An to Hanoi. I guess I should be chilling out and reading my book, but I just can’t leave my blog! I thought I would be able to go a few weeks without checking my social streams and emails, but I’ve actually found it more relaxing to wake up when my boyfriend goes out for a run and go through everything on my laptop, green tea in hand, the sunlight streaming into my hotel room. You see, I can’t stop thinking about the blog, about ideas for posts, about whether or not I need to help anyone who has emailed me, and sometimes it does stress those who are close to me out. I can imagine that this is how someone who runs a business feels, and it is never a chore, but I can see how boring it must be for others. I pour so much of myself into my blog, and I doubt I could ever stop writing or stop checking up on it.

As I have said, starting my blog has been the best decision I ever made, and these negative experiences do little to dent what has been an amazing journey. I just wanted to share some fears, frustrations and experiences with you all, to give you some perspective on what it’s like to be a blogger, and I’d like to thank you all for reading my posts and supporting me, it means so much.

A Trio Of Bravissimo Bras

30 Jan

Bravissimo are always my go to when it comes to recommending excellent bra fitting services to women. And thanks to their huge colourful range of bras I often point custom their way when women lament over the selection of ‘Granny bras’ that they often feel are their only options. However, it has been quite some time since I tried out a Bravissimo house brand bra, and so I recently used their super fast efficient customer service and postal delivery to order myself these three bras:

Paradiso Plume Bra, 28-28, DD-J

Paradiso Plume Bra, 28-38, DD-J

Fleur Bra, 30-40, F-K

Fleur Bra, 30-40, F-K

Purity Bra, 28-28, F-J

Purity Bra, 28-38, F-J

I ordered them all in a 36H, as although I sometimes need a 34 band, Bravissimo bras often come up fairly firm.

The first out of the box was the Purity bra. It is described as a balconette, but the photo reminded me of a Freya Deco plunge bra and I was excited to see if I could finally be able to do away with my badly fitted moulded beauties once and for all…
IMG_3502
As you can see, the bra gives me a smooth look with a nice rounded appearance. I was fully encased in the cups as did not spill out the tops of them.
IMG_3505
Sadly, I found the strap placement and subsequent cut of the bra meant that I was left with less coverage by my armpit, resulting in a spillage situation.
IMG_3504
It is not something that will be rectified by a size change, but it will be good news for women who complain about the straps sliding off their shoulders, or their bra digging in under their arms.
IMG_3507
The band was a good firm fit, and the three hooks and eyes and fully adjustable straps made the incompatibility of the strap placement and cut even more heartbreaking. Sadly it was not quite what I was hoping for, but the potential to rival the Deco is these!

Next up, I tried the Paradiso Plume.
IMG_3508
The cut of the bra reminds me of the ‘Demi Diva’ from a few years ago, and the lack of padding resulting is such amazing uplift astonished me.
IMG_3512
The bra is utterly utterly gorgeous, the feather and flower pattern is very unique. I am so chuffed to see something so young and flirty in the large cup market.
IMG_3518
I adore the double bows on the straps and the pretty pink frill at the edge of the cups. They encased me perfectly, and it was an instant favourite.
IMG_3520
And of course, the three hooks and eyes and fully adjustable straps, well, you know I love it!

Last up was the Fleur Bra.
IMG_3527
Teal with raspberry detailing!? How could I NOT try this scrumptious bra out!
IMG_3535
The bra did give me a fairly rounded boosted shape.  The cups sat perfectly on me and I had no spillage or side boob. It’s interesting to note that with all three of these bras I have no gaps at the bottom of the cups, meaning that my bust shape is very compatible with the wire shape that Bravissimo uses.
IMG_3539
This bra was the comfiest of the three, and I felt like I was very strapped down and secure when in it. I like that it is pretty to look at without needing sheer cups.
IMG_3540
Big thumbs up for those three hooks and eyes and the straps!

When ordering the three bras I expected to adore the Purity, quite like the colour of the Fleur and be ambivalent about the Paradiso.  Therefore I am surprised by how these bras have fitted and looked on me. The Paradiso is my absolute favourite out of the three in terms of colour, fit and comfort, and I really hope that Bravissimo continue to bring out gorgeous patterns and boob boosting styles like that one.

Which was your favourite? Do you like the Bravissimo house brands bras? Let me know in the comments.

The Importance Of A Sports Bra

29 Jan

Regular readers of my blog will know that in a bid to tone up and lose a bit of weight I have been hitting the gym.  And in order to make my experience more comfortable I always wear a sports bra.  It makes me sad and my boobs hurt when I see women working out in their normal bras or badly fitted bras, as they don’t seem to realise the damage they are causing.  It may be that they don’t know that they should wear a sports bra, or that they wear badly fitted bras as it is.
photo-42

The principle is the same for finding out your sports bra sizing as for a normal bra. You will need to try a number of different brands and sizes to get the level of support you require, as well as to ensure that it does not chafe or rub. To ensure that you achieve the right level of support for your chosen activity, the best guide I can give it to mimic the activity you will be doing to ensure the bra stays in place. I have spent a fair amount of time jumping up and down in changing rooms to test the staying power of a bra!

Sports bras can come up VERY snug, so you may need a larger band, or you may need them to be firmer than your usual size and you will need to go down a band size.

The breast is supported by something called the “Coopers ligament” which stretches during excessive movement or exercise. Once this connective tissue is stretched out, it will never return to its normal contour or shape – so that’s basically what causes the breasts to sag. The ideal sports bra should cut breast movement by up to 80%, and as with any item of clothing you will have to shop around to find one that is perfect for you and your bra size and shape.  I often buy my sports bras online, and I came across a post from Tiffany at Figleaves who recommended the Shock Absorber max. Having tried it, I can recommend Shock Absorber bras for sports and working out, and now the only thing that bounces when I work out is my bottom!  There’s currently a good offer on Shock Absorber sports bras at Figleaves, so why not try one for yourself.    The bras come in a fantastic range of colours and designs, and there is no excuse to not support your bust.

Let me know which bra you use to work out in and why in the comments :)

The Man Behind The Boobs

28 Jan

This next post comes from my boyfriend of over four years, Mr Robbie C…

294005_533610341222_1270405_n

It’s Saturday evening and we are both absolutely shattered. George has been on her feet all day at her waitressing job. I’ve just got back from racing in the Met League. We relax with our dinner in front of some light hearted comedy, Two Broke Girls. Everything is pretty chilled. Then Kat Dennings makes a reference to her boobs being a D cup. George shrieks, hyperventialates and has to press pause on the DVD. “SHE IS NOT A D CUP! SHE IS A 30H! AARRRGHHH!”

It’s 1am in a club. George has been in the toilets for ages and in my boredom I’m forced to make small talk with a nearby man who I swear thinks I’m hitting on him. I get worried – is she ok? She eventually reappears with the smuggest grin on her face, followed by two random girls also grinning. “These girls were wearing a 36C but I’ve just measured them and they’re a 32E! My job for the night is done”. She gives them her business card and drags me to the bar for another glass of wine..

Welcome to my life with the girl behind Fuller Figure Fuller Bust.

My life.

My life.

Since she started her blog I have had no option but to become somewhat of an expert in bra fitting – I notice women in the street with badly fitted bras. I recognise Bravissimo dresses on my friends. I try my hardest not to comment but I tend to let my guard down on nights out. The other week I won a free drink at the bar by correctly guessing a girl’s back and cup size – it’s just a shame it was a Fosters.

Life as her boyfriend certainly has its perks though. It’s now commonplace for there to be girls walking around our flat in just their underwear. If that. I’m often just in boxers too and none of us think anything of it. It’s just trust, and I guess its hard to be prudish when you’re all over the internet, wearing not much. Speaking of images – photos are taken almost daily, of the latest bras/dresses/shoes/belts and I’ve become quite the photographer! Again, I have been known to cameo in front of the camera in various states of (un)dress.. and if these make it onto the blog or Facebook I can be assured of some comments from my mates!

Behind the scenes…

I could go on forever with the examples (such as the local newsagent thinking I’m a celebrity after appearing in George’s Take a Break shoot) but I’ll stop here and address some frequently asked questions:

1) How does it feel knowing the whole world has seen your girlfriend in her underwear?

It doesn’t bother me, I honestly don’t even think about it. It’s nothing you don’t see at the beach anyway. It’s just her job. If it makes her happy, it makes me happy too.

2) What’s it like to have a girlfriend who’s all over the national press? Are you intimidated?

It’s great and I’m happy for her. I’m well aware that despite being a top ranked runner, in this sport I’m only going to be famous if I win Olympic Gold – so there’s no jealousy or bitterness here.

3) You must be a lover of all women with big boobs and bums

Not at all. My last fling before George was a size 6 Swedish gymnast. I don’t have a ‘type’. Besides, physical beauty is common – to find someone I get on so well with is much, much rarer. Actually sod it – in my book, having big boobs is awesome.

A Confidence Boosting Competition!

28 Jan

As many of you know, I recently partook in a Boudoir photo shoot with My Boudoir.  The photos were beyond what I was expecting, and it made me feel amazing and beautiful and confident.

Nicola and myself were excited to see the reactions from yourselves, and thanks to Nicola’s amazing generosity, I am really pleased to announce that we are offering one lucky lady the chance to WIN a shoot with her!

How To Enter:
In order to enter the competition you will need to write me a love letter!  However, the love letter will be from you to you.  You cannot enter for a friend or loved one, the competition is about YOU and your confidence journey. It can be in the form of a traditional letter, or a poem or song if you would prefer. You will need to list what you love about yourself and why.  It can be as random or as obvious as you like, but I want you to dig deep and appreciate those positive qualities that you have.  I’d also like you to include a full length photo of yourself in your favourite outfit, something you look at and say ‘Wow, I AM beautiful.’ Some images and poems may get posted on my Facebook page once the competition has closed, so please indicate if this is something you would prefer not to happen. The winner’s photos will also be published online, and I would love for them to write a blog post for me about the day.
Please only enter the competition once.

Send your entry entitled ‘A Love Letter To Myself’ to fullerfigurefullerbust@gmail.com.  I will try my hardest to reply to every email to let you know it has been received and that it fits the entry requirements.  Please note that I am on holiday from the 4th – 20th of February and I will not be checking my emails.  The competition will close on the 31st of March.

Myself, Nicola Grimshaw and Sarah Elliott will judge the entries and select and announce a winner by the 2nd of April.
