A girl can never have too much swimwear – and so when Viva Voluptuous contacted me and offered me the chance to review a bikini set I was over the moon and under the sun!
I saw that the pieces they were selling were by the Polish brand ‘Kris Line’, and I had heard that they have mega firm bands. And so I asked for a lovely floral and polka dot set in my sister size of 38H with size 20/22 bottoms – to accommodate for the firmer fit and fact that I like a slightly looser fit in bikini bands.
First impressions of the set – it was stunning! The colours and pattern are super cute, and the straps didn’t look like they would cheesewire into my shoulders. I tried it on, and found that if anything, the band was slightly big – and so I would recommend buying this in your usual band size for a good fit, or even sizing down for a firm fit. The cups feel like they come up slightly small – I had slight spillage. I am a bit more relaxed about this in bikinis, and it was minimal. I really liked how firm the cups were, as it helped give me a cleavage, and it’ll hide things being a bit nippy!
With regards to the bottoms I would say that the sizing is bang on, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much higher they came up on me compared to the model, and also how firm they were across my stomach.
The colour would be so lovely on tanned skin and women of colour – and as a friend pointed out, the print is very Cath Kidson!
I do think that Viva Voluptuous have got a lovely swimwear collection on their site, but my only gripe is that they are catering to the smaller end of plus. It would be good to see the sets modelled on their own in-house models as well. I do like that they are a plus size site selling bra sized swimwear – so many brands go down the cheap and unsupportive route!
