One of my favourite people in the whole wide world is the adorable delicious Caroline CurvyWordy. She’s sweet, she’s funny, she’s got a filthy sense of humour, she gives the best advice and she has the most wonderful fashion sense, and the things she owns that I don’t are things that I want!
Recently CurvyWordy posted about the Collectif Phyllis Velvet Pencil Dress, and after seeing her photos and reading what she had to say about the dress I naturally had to try it!
I went for the dress in a 16 as my boobs are several sizes smaller than Caroline’s magnificent pair, and it fit me like a spray on glove:
I teamed the plunging fitted dress with my usual cocktail of Maidenform shorts and a Freya Deco bra, and these essential foundation garments made me feel supported and streamlined in such a minx of a dress.
The dress fastens at the back with a small zip and has a V neck back which I adore. It has crossover neckline and 3/4 length sleeves. The emerald green velvet is thick with a touch of stretch to it, and the floral bust detail just gives it a little extra.
The shoes I teamed it with are from Primark, and they really help compliment the classic gorgeousness of the dress. I can see it working for black tie events, nights out and with Winter weddings. I can tell that I will wear it to death as I adore it – Collectif have done it again!
At 5’7 this is a perfect length on me, and I love how it tapers in at the knees like a true wiggle, giving the wearer a glorious silhouette. Despite it being perfectly fitted all over I would still add a belt to it to really help draw me in at the waist and show off my shape.
As you can see the dress is great to move in! And it even attracts wildlife…
Thank you once again to my patient gorgeous photographer –
