It’s that time of year again in England – festival season! That unpredictable yet amazing time when you might be blessed with scorching sunshine or miserable torrential rain – such is the beauty of the UK! And so when it comes to preparing your festi wardrobe, you really do need to cover every base!
Being a plus size girl, one high street place that I would probably turn to is the Inspire section at New Look. Reasonable prices, lots of choice if you shop online and items that don’t deviate too far from what you might find in the smaller range.
I was recently asked to pick some items from Inspire that I might wear at a festival, and here is what I came up with:
These size 20 skorts do slightly terrify me as I really do not like to get my legs out. However, in the blazing sun or knee high mud I might think otherwise, and when I’m tucked I to the middle of a moshing crowd, no one will even see the legs that only I seem to hate! I adore that they are high waisted, they are easy breezy around my larger legs and they are slightly longer in the middle, meaning that they will hopefully help prevent much chub rub. Yes, they do ride up but my meaty thighs will always have an appetite! If you are wearing something longer and you want to prevent chafing, you should check out these anti-chafing shorts from The Big Bloomers Company.
I love this size 18 peplum top. It’s gorgeous and floral, not too low and very versatile. I chose to tuck it into the skirts as the peplum bottom didn’t suit the flowy shorts. But it would look fab with a fitted skirt or even a nice maxi skirt.
I’m blessed with wide feed, and my sandal options can often be rather limited. And so I was please to see these bright sandals – and they fit perfectly. I am around a 6.5 in shoes. 7 in non wide fit and 6 in wide fit. These fit me perfectly in a 6 and do not dig in at all.
Kimonos are HUGE right now, and this stunning peach coloured floral kimono was the perfect item to add to my outfit should the weather turn cooler or really hot, calling for a layer to help ward off sunburn. It’s wonderful and floaty, and the clashing florals work really well together.
New Look sell loads of beautiful hair accessories. My hair flower bands are from Primark, but similar can be found here.
