The Perfect Fit

8 Jan

When it comes to dresses I am a Bulk Buyer. And one dress that I particularly love is the Collectif Dolores doll dress. and so when Collectif had a sale on just after Christmas and so I decided to snap up a Dolores Doll Dress in red polka.

This was a fairly restrained move, but one I did not regret once the dress turned up!
I decided to go for a UK14 this time, based on the fact that my 18s and 16s are a little roomy now thanks to a few inches of weight loss, and the beautiful CurvyWordy wears a 12.

Here is how the dress looked on me:

As you can see the dress fits my waist and my bust perfectly and looks great even without a belt.IMG_3223

Red is a colour that I wear a lot and I’m chuffed to add this spotty number to my collection – I can see it serving me very well on my impending holiday!

My ever so slight weight loss and hair tidy up at make this an outfit that I am so happy in! The dress actually felt like it had been made for me and I’m so glad I now have it in a size that fits my bust and waist perfectly. Although, for curiosities sake I had to add a belt JUST to see how it looked…

And I almost feel like this is another dress that I could wear beltless… well, it’ll be nice to have the option anyway!

Have you tried a Dolores dress or another Collectif dress? How did you find the fit? Do you have a dress that feels tailor made? Let me know!

Looking gorgeous! In fact it might have to become ‘George-ous’.
I have a black Collectif Dolores – in fact I just sold it this week. It is a size 22 and it drowns me. Do they run large, esp. in the chest? Mine has masses of room, and I’m currently a 46-42-51. :S

How on earth did you manage to lose weight over Christmas?! Tell me the secret!

I’m off to buy the same now. Looks amazing on you.

I love this dress, it looks beautiful on you. I’m really sad it doesn’t work for me – even in a size 6 it’s too big across my shoulders and it’s only the plain colours that are available in a 6 anyway :(

    Looks great on you!

    (Ops forgot to post comment…)
I actually ordered the same dress when Collectif had their 40% off sale. I really really like that red colour. Size 10 was fine in the waist for me but too loose in the bust area:-( so I agree that the bust area of this dress is very roomy.

I actually think it looks better/more figure flattering without the belt! Beautiful <3.

LOVE LOVE LOVE this dress on you and I LOVE it without the belt. I’ve tried a 16 (too low and too wide) and 18 (too big and too wide and gaped at the front, even on my 48″ boobs) so as soon as I find a 14 I’ll try that. I prefer this to the PUG Heidi as there’s no issue with bras showing at the sides.

Of all your Dolores dresses I think this is the best I’ve seen :-) xxx

Hi, My size is 42, 32, 42 and I find the UK 16 fits perfectly and there is more than enough room in the bust. PS. the red looks great on you without the belt.xx
