Yep. You read the title of this post correctly! I, Georgina Horne, went out without a trusty belt on. It felt weird but it looked good, and it’s all thanks to this little number.

Purply coloured dresses are not my usual style, and the peplum shape is not something I though would work for me. And that is precisely why, when contacted by the lovely Claire at ‘Excite Clothing’ with the offer of a dress to review, I chose the gorgeous wine coloured peplum dress, size 20 to house my proportions. I have quite a predictable look and style of dressing and I wanted to push the boundaries a teeny tiny bit.
The dress arrived swiftly and it was exactly the shade show on the site. The peplum sat just below my waist, not on my already ample hips like I feared, and helped not only cover my stomach, but also create my favoured nipped in silhouette.

And so I decided to give my form fitting wiggle dresses a night off and take my peplum out on the town.  And it didn’t disappoint!

I hope that you’ll agree that the style of dress is very flattering. The length is perfect on me, the neckline is the right amount of modest and that peplum – well it just works! My only gripes would be that whilst the bust and hips are spot on, the waist could, as always, be a tad more fitted, as could the dress around my knees. But it has certainly converted me to the peplum shape and I can see why they are so popular!
