This next guest post is from an amazing lady who has been a fantastic supporter and mentor to me and all round lovely lady to know for a few months now.  Here she discusses how her business was born out of a passion for correctly fitted large bras. She also writes this inspiring blog and we share a few experiences and opinions. Here is her story.

I first became aware of Fuller Figure Fuller Bust when the gorgeous Georgina got her curves out for the Curvy Kate ‘Star in a Bra’ campaign. We carry Curvy Kate because they’re dedicated to using models that truly represent the women who wear their bras and GH was no exception. I was smitten at once with Georgina’s curves, body art and totally kick-ass attitude!  The more I got to know her the more I found out that she embodies all the hopes, fears, triumphs and frustrations of being a busty woman.

It’s these complexities of being a buxom beauty that make my job so interesting. Just finding the right size bras for D-K cup women isn’t enough; you have to understand all the emotional, practical and physical elements of being a busty woman. If you’ve ever knocked anything over with a rogue boob then you’ll know what I’m talking about!

5 years after moving to Vancouver from Doncaster I created Butterfly Collection because I simply couldn’t find affordable big cup bras in Canada. The first time I ventured out to find a bra in Vancouver I almost caused cardiac arrest in the tiny shop assistant who simply couldn’t comprehend what I meant by an H cup bra! Coming from the UK where there is choice on the high street for D+ cup women I was dumbfounded that busty women were still being kept in the shadows in Canada.

I started to research how big busted Canadian women felt about their breasts and it became very apparent that there wasn’t a great deal of celebration going on. No surprise! Who was out there flying the big bra flag for Canadian women let alone giving them gorgeous bras to choose from?!  This is when it became very clear to me that I was meant to bring Big Boob Joy and Understanding (sounds like the title of our first album!) to Canadian women.

I had a few simple things that I wanted to achieve with Butterfly Collection:

  • Make at least one woman feel better about herself by getting her into the right bra
  • Always listen to the personal story of being a busty woman because no two stories are the same
  • Offer more than just basics; bring colour and life back to busty drawers everywhere!

These simple goals have brought me in touch with women across Canada and the US (thanks to our Skype Fittings). I feel so honoured that I can help women free themselves from the physical and emotional stress of being a busty woman. I know that when you’re in the right bra, life really is that little bit easier. The day I knew that I had made my own dream come true was when a nurse emailed me and wrote “If you ever wonder if you have changed someone’s life, know that you’ve changed mine. I’ve never felt this good about my body as an adult.”  I love my job, I love my boobs and I’m so grateful to the women who let me help them love their boobs! xx
